Olson Elementary PTA is a part of the National PTA. The mission of the Olson PTA is to make every child’s potential a reality by engaging and empowering families and communities to advocate for all children. The PTA purpose is to promote the welfare of children, bring closer relationship between the home and the school so that parents and teachers can collaborate in the education of children. The Olson PTA is involved in many different projects throughout the school year and provides a wonderful opportunity for parents to volunteer in a variety of ways and become actively involved in their child's education.
Historically, our PTA has been able to offer strong support to Olson Elementary by sponsoring student programs that enrich curriculum, organizes volunteer opportunities for parent and community members. Educational and entertaining family oriented programs are planned throughout the school year to support these programs.
Fundraisers have provided funds for technology, enrichment, field trips, playground equipment and teacher support services. The PTA membership drive is held in the fall and we encourage every adult and staff member to join. Membership is tax deductible and with the membership, there are several benefits of being a PTA member. You will have the opportunity to vote on important programs at meetings, assist with planning / performance of activities at school, free childcare at parent teacher conferences and to save money in our community.
