It is important that we keep our lines open. This is a good time to review with your child what procedure they should follow if school is closed early due to inclement weather. Kids' SAFARI is NOT an option when there is an emergency school closing.

OLE won the second place cash prize of $250 in the Fire Uo Your Feet! fall incentive contest.  OLE students and their families logged the miles that they walked, biked, scootered, and skated on the FireUpYourFeet.org website from August 22 - November 23.  We racked up over 847 miles and almost 15,000 minutes!  With this new money and the $500 from last spring's first place win, we have almost enough for a larger, new bike rack for 22 bikes!  We are very proud of our students and families for their hard work and diligence in logging miles on the website. The Minnesota School of Excellence Program is a school improvement process that assesses six standards for quality elementary schools. The standards are leadership, vision, student learning, staff development, data and decision-making, and active community engagement.

The Learn Green committee of the OLE PTA strives to increase environmental awareness at Olson through Zero Waste, Recycle, Reuse, Reduce and Rethink.

The Bloomington Parent-Teacher-Student-Association (PTSA) Council will host two parent workshops featuring College Planning Adviser, Kevin Kruger from 7 - 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Feb. 28 at Oak Grove Middle School and Dr. Steven Kahn author of Insightful Parenting: Making Moments Count from 7 - 8:30 p.m. on Tuesday, March 20 at Olson Middle School.
